3What does the name Avivo mean?
The name Avivo captures the essence of our purpose. It comes from the Latin word “Vivo”, meaning to be alive, and from the verb “Avivar” meaning to enliven, brighten, invigorate and enhance vigor (good health, energy, life). Avivar also means to become more aware and informed.

3What services do you offer?
Avivo offers lifelong comprehensive care and surgical services in obstetrics, gynecology and support services critical to the health and wellbeing of our patients. These services include, prenatal care, postpartum care for new moms and babies, menstrual disorders, contraception, menopause, surgical gynecology (i.e. fibroids, permanent contraception), mental health and physiotherapy. The vast majority of services are covered by Alberta Health Care. The only exemptions are:

3Who is considered an existing versus new patient?
If you’ve had an appointment in the last 12 months, you’re considered an existing patient. A new patient is someone whose last appointment was more than 12 months ago, or who hasn’t yet had an appointment at the clinic.
